We’re all about transparency at Flick – so we’ll be honest – on entering the High-Tech Awards, we weren’t expecting to be announced as finalists in all three categories:

  • IBM Innovative Company
  • Vocus Innovative Hi-Tech Services
  • Coretex Hi-Tech Emerging Company of the Year

It’s safe to say we’re pretty humbled, blown away and excited all rolled into one!  We’re up against some tough and awesome competition and wanted to highlight just a handful of those #CleverFlickers.

Figure.NZ are an incredible organisation devoted to getting people to use data about New Zealand.  We were lucky enough to hear from its wonderful founder and CEO, Lillian Grace who spoke at our last ‘Flick Connects’ event.

We think Rocket Lab is pretty cool and wrote about Peter Beck in the Inspiration Station section of #FlickLife Friday a wee while ago.  He’s been a driving force behind improving human access to space. Rocket Lab recently signed a deal with Spire Satellites to launch up to 12 satellites into orbit in the coming two years.  We love people who think there’s gotta be a better way to do things – and these guys are doing just that!  Watch this space – get it. I laughed!

90 Seconds is on a mission to make web video affordable for all businesses and organisations, and create hundreds and thousands of global jobs for video and film professionals.  Their Cloud Video Production Service enables brands and agencies to get high quality online video content shot and produced anywhere in the world. Incredible!

Stay tuned for the winners, fingers crossed!
