Last Friday was a momentous day – Flick won its first NZ Hi-Tech Award for Most Innovative Service! We were up against some of New Zealand’s finest tech talent – companies that have been making phenomenal progress within the tech industry for some time – so we are extraordinarily humbled to be given the top gong.

Chief Flickster Steve O’Connor dedicated the award to Flick’s customers: “Creating value for our customers is what drives us – it’s the purpose of our innovation. And customers taking up our service, engaging with our products, giving us feedback, and spreading the word are the things that have made us successful. An idea is nothing without customers.

“When we launched almost two years ago we wanted to give New Zealanders unprecedented fairness, transparency, choice, control and value in the electricity retail market. We’re delivering 18% average savings to our customers and have saved Kiwis more than $2m so far.

“What’s exciting is that this is just the beginning. We’ve got a strong innovation pipeline ahead and the team to make our dreams for customers a reality,” said O’Connor.

We were also lucky enough to be finalists in the Innovative Company and Emerging Company categories.
