We make it our business to be deliberately on the side of Kiwis, so we’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with much-loved, local organisation, Wellington Free Ambulance for our first-ever multi-year community support partnership. Whoop whoop!
Many of you will already know that Flick is homegrown in Te Whanganui-a-Tara (beginning life as a wee start-up headquartered in Kaiwharawhara), and we’re stoked to be collaborating with Wellington Free Ambulance – the only emergency service in the Greater Wellington and Wairarapa region, and the only free ambulance service in Aotearoa. How’s that for flickin’ awesome?!
We can’t emphasise enough the essential role Wellington Free Ambulance plays in safeguarding our community; last year alone they responded to more than 160,000 calls and attended almost 53,000 incidents. They also offer medic support at events, CPR and defibrillator training, and sell Lifepak CR2 AEDs. Needless to say, we’re proud to support them in maintaining these critical services!
Through this partnership, we’ll take on the role of electricity retailer for the Wellington Free Ambulance sites, providing them with access to affordable electricity. This’ll include their Thorndon-based HQ and nine ambulance stations located around the region (and a sweet deal for their awesome staff, too!). We’ll also be providing additional funding which will help them keep their services free of charge to anyone who needs them.
It’s a collab that’s intrinsically grounded in the shared values of both companies. Wellington Free Ambulance works to serve and protect our local communities and take care of our most vulnerable people, and our mahi here at Flick means we’re deliberately on the side of Kiwis, fighting for what’s right and what’s fair.
Neisha, our Chief Marketing Officer and one of the key drivers behind the partnership says, “We’re incredibly proud to join forces with Wellington Free Ambulance. It’s such an iconic organisation here in Wellington, and one that our local communities could not do without.
At Flick, we’re passionate about being on the side of Kiwis, whether they’re our customers or not. By partnering with Wellington Free Ambulance, we feel we can really make a difference in our home region, and we’re excited to support them in their incredible and essential mahi.”
Claire Carruthers, GM Fundraising and Communications at Wellington Free Ambulance, says, “Our new partnership with Flick is fantastic on several levels. On a day-to-day basis, their support will help keep our (rather large!) electricity bills affordable, and they’re generously offering our staff a one-off credit on their Flick accounts too.
On an annual basis, their donation helps us keep the ‘free’ in Wellington Free Ambulance. They’re even keen to support our annual Onesie Appeal and we’re excited to see the onesies they pull out for that! Supporters like Flick are absolutely essential in keeping our services running and we’re so grateful for their generosity.”
There are lots of fun plans in the pipeline, and we’re pumped to don our onesies to help with their annual fundraising drive come September 7. Keep an eye out on our social channels!
