Congratulations Flicksters – we did it!

Last Thursday night, 6 July 2017, Flick Electric Co. was announced the Supreme Winner of the 2017 Dominion Post Wellington Gold Awards, as well as winner of the Cyber Gold Award (tech sector), and to say we’re excited is somewhat of an understatement!

The Wellington Gold Awards are a huge event on the Wellington calendar, as recognition and celebration of local businesses that show excellence and enterprise in the Wellington Region. We were extremely proud just to be nominated, with our name featuring alongside other inspiring local businesses like Fix and Fogg, The Misprint Co, and Visa Wellington On A Plate.

With so many high calibre nominees, we faced some seriously stiff competition. But the judges valued our disruptive and transparent model, our innovative use of technology, and our investments back into the Wellington community. Flick yeah!

Flicksters, take a bow

We are so incredibly proud to win both of these awards, but the truth of the matter – and despite the cliché – is that we couldn’t have done any of it without our invaluable Flicksters (#truth).

You’ve chosen to back a fledgling. A company that goes against-the-grain, and a business model that’s based on transparency and honesty. You’ve chosen to challenge a highly competitive, traditional and ignorant marketplace, and demand a fair price for your power. And you’ve chosen to support us – and stay with us – through the tough times and challenges of a Dry Winter.

And we can’t thank you enough. You’re flickin’ amazing.
